SCHOOLS & YOUNG PEOPLE

Creative confidence and communication workshops for young people.

Young people have plenty to say.

Having the confidence, language and opportunity to say it can be another story.

Community ArtReach creates inclusive creative programs where young people can explore identity, storytelling, communication and self-expression without needing to be the loudest person in the room.

Through writing, conversation, creativity and supported speaking activities, participants build practical confidence while making meaningful connections with others.

  • communication
  • storytelling
  • public speaking
  • creativity
  • connection

Designed for actual young people.

Not every student enjoys putting their hand up.

Not everyone wants to perform.

Some communicate best through writing first. Some need time to think. Some students are confident socially but terrified of presenting. Others have spent years learning how to disappear in group settings.

Our facilitation recognises different communication styles and creates multiple ways to participate — so that more young people can find an entry point that feels manageable.

We work to create psychologically safer spaces where young people can take creative risks without fear of getting it wrong. Our approach is inclusive and neuro-affirming, designed to meet participants where they are rather than where we expect them to be.

Draw Your (S)words is more than just a monthly spoken word event. It is a place where we proudly offer a platform for all to share their stories, connect in a safe space and feel included. It is more of a family.
